About Us
DeVine Tastings is dedicated to developing products to help people learn more about wine. We are not bona fide experts on wine, but we passionately love wine and, for several decades now, have made getting to know wines our hobby.
Along the way, two things happened: 1) we met many smart people who describe themselves as "loving wine, but not knowing much about it," and who wonder what "the sniffing and snorting" before sipping is all about, and 2) we realized that the typical paper and pencil approach to recording one's tasting notes was inconvenient and inefficient.
So, we wrote a short, friendly but informative booklet--A Primer of Wine Tasting--that demystifies wine tasting and developed a new approach to record tasting notes--Wine Tasting Rings.
The Primer and the Wine Tasting Rings led to the journals. Our focus groups revealed that people who had read the Primer wanted to continue to hone their wine tasting skills and they wanted a journal devoted to this pursuit--one with more Rings and more space for the Rings.
We also recognized the demand for more specific wine tasting booklets which led us to create A Primer of South African Wines, A Primer of Sauvignon Blanc Wines, and A Primer of Rhone Valley and Rhone Ranger Wines which will be released soon. And more are in the works.
